Overview of the Chinese Mobile Screen Industry Market
Basic concepts and classification
Definition of mobile screen
A mobile phone screen refers to a display screen used to display images and colors. The screen size is calculated based on the diagonal of the screen, usually in inches, referring to the length of the diagonal of the screen. With the increasing popularity of mobile phone color screens, screen materials are becoming increasingly important. The color screens of mobile phones vary due to different research and development technologies. Generally speaking, the more colors can be displayed, the more complex images can be displayed, and the level of the screen is also richer. With the increasing requirements for lightweight and high-definition display of mobile phones, as well as the increasingly mature embedded touch technology, the mobile screen industry is gradually developing from traditional single component supply to integrated module production, and the vertical integration trend of the industry chain is obvious.
Classification of mobile phone screens
Mobile screens are divided into the following categories based on different display technologies:
Liquid Crystal Display (LCD): LCD screens utilize the optical properties of liquid crystal materials to illuminate the display screen through a backlight module. The common LCD screen resolution is 1920 × 1080, suitable for most smartphones.
Organic Light Emitting Diode (OLED) Screen: OLED screens are various colored light emitting diodes made of organic materials. Because backlight is not required, OLED screens can achieve higher contrast and a wider viewing angle. In addition, OLED screens can also achieve high refresh rates, making them suitable for watching videos/games, and more.
Touch screen: Touch screen refers to the process of placing a touch sensing layer on an LCD or OLED screen, allowing users to interact with their fingers or other objects on the screen.
Flexible screen: Flexible screens use more flexible materials to achieve a more curved screen shape. Common flexible screen technologies include ultra-thin glass, polyimide, rubber, etc.
Curved screen: Curved screen refers to the curved surface of the screen, providing users with a more immersive visual experience. Common curved screens include 2.5D glass, 3D glass, etc.
